the pure shall see God (matt 5.8)

This has been on my heart lately. So many young people struggle with lust, and they lose and fail over and over again. I can't count the number of times my girl friends have turned to me with this struggle, and even though I tell them what God's Word says, they go off and fall to their sin. The issue isn't that they didn't listen to me..the issue is they didn't listen to God's Word.

It's important to kill sin. Why? Because if you don't...the sin will kill you.

Praise the Lord that He is in control of all things (Romans 8:28) because honestly, if He wasn't, I'd be very discouraged. 

I can honestly say one of the biggest struggles for me, in this season of my life, is being one of the only young married women among a lot of friends, and watching this happen over and over and over again. It is my prayer that my girl friends learn to love God more and learn to obey Him and listen to wise counsel based on the Word of God.

Here are a couple of verses to encourage and uplift you, whoever is reading... 


Psalm 119:9: How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

What's Beautycounter?

For those of you who didn't know, I've actually become a consultant for Beautycounter, a skincare and cosmetics brand that stands out for its mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Our "New Normal"

Evangeline has been home with us for almost a month now (already?!) and we've finally created a routine...it's a "new normal" for all three of us! Currently life consists of drawing up medications, breastpumping, cleaning bottles/breaspumping accessories/syringes, feeding our baby and changing diapers. When Evangeline was born at 6 months gestation, our routine consisted of us going to the NICU for 88 days. It was exhausting and difficult, but it was the only way to see our baby (we can't stress how thankful we are that she's home!) And well, just as we got used to this "new normal," I'm going to have to get used to another "new normal" in about 2 weeks! Why? Because Kevin will be going back to work, since his paid-time off will end soon! Honestly, having a baby is already life-changing as is. But to have a baby with special needs is a lot of work!
